{September Goals}

Well, July & August came and went. Work was super busy and I tried to make every effort to live in the moment and enjoy our "summer". Because of that, the blog suffered! I'm back this month, and what better way to start then my monthly goals! I just had to use the fall pic of Lia from last year! Look how little she was...

Here we go with those goals!

1. Work trip to Florida
2. 100 of 1000 gifts
3. Help 5 - 7 more people reach their health and fitness goals
4.  Build my Beachbody Team
5. Attend a football game - I love football!!!
6. Take a family picture - Seriouslly we have like 2 total and they are selfies :(
7. Read 1 non-fiction and 1 fiction book
8. Another Round of 21 Day Fix - Want to do it with me?

{Time}

I get asked often what I miss most about Haiti. The number one answer, is the people, our friends. Part of what makes that question so easy to answer and why the people, is the way of living in Haiti. Even though we were busy and there was always a lot to do, it felt that often time stood still...Our evenings weren't spent running from one activity to the next, but they were spent in the community playing soccer, walking, or hanging out on the porch with our friends. Haiti is very community based and you are always free to visit a neighbor, stop by, sit on their porch, talk, and visit. I miss people stopping by our house, I miss the neighborhood boys that would come and play, I miss all of those things. I miss time....

It's no question, getting time in the word was more difficult when we moved home from Haiti, but it has been extremely more difficult since having Lia. I've been told that I'm being to hard on myself. While that may be true, my soul craves that time that I've lost. My soul misses the oneness with my Savior. I know that at this point in time, I'm probably not going to be able to get in hour in during the mornings (until Lia starts sleeping through the night), but I know that some changes can be made.

* Take the first 15-20 min of morning nap time (I very rarely have appointments scheduled at this time)
* Listen to Christian music while working, instead of having the TV on.
* In the evenings about 30 min before we go to bed, I love to lay in bed and watch Netflix, I've been feeling a very strong conviction that this time could be better used, so I'm now watching a sermon, or a part of a sermon each night before bed.

Yes, time is hard to come by, by my priorities needed adjusted!

I'd love to hear what you other moms with littles do to get time in the word in....

February Goals

January Goals
1. Read 1 Non-Fiction and 1 Fiction Book: I did half of this, I got through one Fiction book on vacation.
2. Get a Pedicure/Massage - Of course I did this!! It was awesome
3. Early Mornings - This was a failure. Anyone heard of 6 month sleep regression. lol...
4. Unplug one weekend this month - ugh...I failed again.
5. Start Project 365 - I started this, but didn't keep up with it.

February Goals
1. Unplug in the evenings - From when I finish work until Lia is asleep, I'm staying off social media and off my phone. I started this a week ago and I find she has so much fun, when I give her my all.
2. Read my Bible everyday - Since I haven't been getting up early due to Lia's sleep regression, my bible reading has been suffering.
3. Finish Round 1 of Insanity Max 30 - I love this workout. I'm just starting week 3 and it is awesome! I love that I am challenged to beat my previous time.
4. Read 1 Non-Fiction and 1 Fiction Book: My friend Megan wrote a book: "Miracle on Voodoo Mountain" I am planning on reading it this month.
5. Go to the Movies: Claudy and I have been wanting to go to the movies...Hoping it happens this month!
6. Blog more....no need to comment further on that.

Do you guys celebrate Valentine's Day? We did when we lived in Haiti, but last year we didn't really? What do you do for Valentine's Day?

{25 Days of Christmas} - Day 2 - Advent Study

Advent - the arrival of a notable person, thing, or event.
As Noel Piper puts it.
"For four weeks, it’s as if we’re re-enacting, remembering the thousands of years God’s people were anticipating and longing for the coming of God’s salvation, for Jesus. That’s what advent means—coming. Even God’s men who foretold the grace that was to come didn’t know “what person or time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating." They were waiting, but they didn’t know what God’s salvation would look like."

I want this season to not be so consumed, with presents, music, decorations, parties, but a time to remember our Savior.

Last year I attempted to complete a study and made it 10 days and fizzled out. I'm committed this year to two different studies: SheReadsTruth and Ann Voskamp's, The Greatest Gift. I'm excited to see what the Lord does as I prepare my heart this season.

What are your traditions for Advent? Are you doing any studies? I would love to hear what you guys do!
